Day tour to Jerez
Visit to the Domecq Family estate and winery of Pedro Domecq
Evening dinner in Sevilla
Jerez de la Frontera, usually called Jerez, has its old quarter surrounding the Alcázar de Jerez, a Moorish fortress founded in the 11th century. The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art is a famed riding school with horse shows and a carriage museum. The city is also known for flamenco music and sherry production in the so-called Sherry Triangle lying to the west.
The Pedro Domecq Winery is a large bodega - as well as being the oldest in Jerez, dating from 1730 and is located in the city centre, it features a 16th-century former convent whose cloisters and orange-tree-lined patio are now used for events. The Domecq family have owed this winery for many generations and the famous Don Jose Ignacio Domecq, who died in 1997, known as
'El Nariz' (The Nose) for his amazing sense of smell, was the acknowledged king of sherry tasters.
