Málaga is a historic and culturally rich provincial capital which has long lived in the shadow of the iconic Andalucian cities of Granada & Sevilla. The tastefully restored historic centre is a delight, its Gothic cathedral is surrounded by narrow pedestrian streets flanked by traditional and modern bars, and shops that range from idiosyncratic and family owned, to urban-chic and contemporary. It has rapidly emerged as the province's city of culture with its so-called 'mile of art' being compared to Madrid, and its dynamism and fine dining to Barcelona, with the 11th century Gibralfaro Castle sitting grandly aloft overlooking the city.
Santana Golf & Country Club is situated inland from the coast and is set meandering through 140 acres of orange and avocado groves with a backdrop of the majestic Mijas Mountains and is truly a course of outstanding beauty.
One of the jewels of the Costa del Sol is the beautiful little village of Mijas, which nestles comfortably in the mountainside just over 400 mts above sea level. When you wander through the narrow cobbled streets of this Andalucian village it has somehow managed to retain much of its traditional way of life, the locals displaying their unabashed passion for all things festive and an unmistakable relaxed 'mañana' outlook on anything that can be put off for another day.
Granada, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Andalucía, has many important examples of medieval architecture dating to the Moorish occupation of Spain. It’s best known for the Alhambra, a grand, sprawling hilltop fortress complex encompassing royal palaces, serene patios and reflecting pools from the Nasrid dynasty, as well as the fountains and orchards of the Generalife gardens.
Valderrama Golf Club was host venue to the 1997 Ryder Cup plus many Volvo Masters Championships and Spanish Opens, classified by many golf publications as the number one golf course in Continental Europe.
The Sunborn Yacht Hotel is truly magnificent moored in an idyllic marina on Western Europe’s most southern tip. With lavishly appointed rooms, bars, cocktail lounge, restaurant, tranquil pool, spa and sun deck it offers guests a unique opportunity to enjoy the ultimate hotel experience.
