About the schools & Colleges

Dulwich College

Dulwich College was founded 1619, with letters patent from King James I and this magnificent document with the Great Seal of England still survives. It has great playing fields and a history of producing many fine sportsmen and is extremely strong in both Cricket and Rugby Union.

Whitgift School

Founded in 1596 by John Whitgift, Queen Elizabeth I’s last Archbishop of Canterbury and opened in 1600. It has a strong tradition in Rugby Union and Cricket and their ground is used for first class matches by Surrey County Cricket Club.

Tonbridge School

Was founded in 1553 by Sir Andrew Judde under Letters Patent of King Edward VI and occupies an extensive site of about 150 acres on the northern edge of the town of Tonbridge in Kent.

Its sports facilities are second to none and the Australian track and field athletes resided at the school prior to and during the 2012 London Olympics.

Sevenoaks School

The school has been at the same location in Knole Park, Sevenoaks, Kent since 1432 and is flourishing with a newly built sports centre and has a fine tradition of sporting excellence.

 

King’s School

Founded in 1541, Henry Vlll established within the Cathedral Foundation 50 King's Scholars as well as a Headmaster and Lower Master. Thanks to this core of King's Scholars, the school came to be known as the King's School.
