Sevilla - Spain
This is one of the main winter destinations for many international rowing federations for warm weather training. This historic and cultural city is traversed by the Guadalquivir river and its two kilometre rowing course, with the northern point of the river being channelled to eliminate tides and currents it offers great smooth training facilities.
The city centre is mere 5 minute taxi ride from the boat house with a multitude of 2 to 5 star hotels but for schools and colleges accommodation is at the CAER Residencia which is a mere 100 metres away. There is also two 4 star hotels within a five minute walk the Exe Isla Cartuja and the Barcelo Sevilla Renacimiento. With many cycle lanes throughout the city if a taxi isn't your choice a daily or weekly ticket for city bike hire is available.
Bled – Slovenia
Bled 'The Jewel of Alpine' is a true alpine paradise in the Northwest of Slovenia with its idyllic lake and enchanting island and imposing cliff top castle it has become a famous worldwide locDuring the post war years Bled developed into an important site for rowing and is today one of the world’s most renown rowing centres with perhaps the mcourse anywhere.
It has staged three world championships in addition to many national and international regattas and is twinned with Henley on Thames.
The Rowing Federation of Slovenia has its headquarters and clubhouse on the lake and offer both training camps and boat hire for visiting clubs.
Colombo - Sri Lanka
We have secured the use of facilities at the Colombo Rowing Club for those who would like to combine visiting this beautiful island and a rowing tour.
Situated on Lake Biera in Colombo the club is a very short walk away from the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel which has all facilities expected of a top class hotel, with a variety of restaurants and overlooks the lake.
